I don't have a favorite movie or director, but I enjoy the dramatic genre very much. 

In short, drama is often about conflict or episodes in the lives of human beings. 

Uff, It's hard to choose just one movie to talk about, so I'll name a few that I liked a lot, and that you may have seen too: The danish girl, Hacksaw ridge, la vita é bella, my name is Khan.

If you have seen these movies or any of them, you will notice that they all have in common that they deal with situations with a sad tone, and are far from inspiring laughter or grace. I like many movies, books, and drama series, because they usually deal with serious and transcendent topics, topics with some painful, scandalous or social injustice orientation. 

I enjoy this genre very much because of the emotions that remain afterwards. It is difficult to see or read about a situation that seems unfair to you without leaving you with some sense of conflict afterwards. The characterization that is usually made about the characters is usually so realistic that it brings out emotions that make you question the society in which we live, and even our nature as human beings.
